5 Places for youth to celebrate vacations

Many a times the youths get confused in planning for their upcoming vacations. Some celebrate it in the form of food, drinks and DJ parties with their loved ones while some celebrate it in the form of a tour.

While there is no dearth of beautiful and luxurious tourist places in our country, but when it comes to Celebrate certain occasions, people generally prefer Goa, Pondicherry, or some renowned hill station.

However, there are so many wonderful places in our country, where the happiness of your special events can be doubled.

Here, I have shortlisted the 5 places for youth, where they can enjoy and celebrate their vacations.

Lansdowne

Located amidst the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand – Lansdowne is located at an altitude of 1700 metres above sea level. It was founded under the British Raj and is a home to the Garhwal Rifles Regiment of the Indian Army. Lansdowne is the nearest hill station to national capital Delhi with a travel distance of 250 kilometers.

Lansdowne is a picturesque little hill town which is not so famous among the tourists. It is an untouched, pristine town, which is miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The greenery spread everywhere makes you feel a different world. The journey from Delhi to Lansdowne will cost less than Rs. 1200. Hotels, one can get here within the range of 600 to 1000 rupees.

Shillong

One of the spectacular tourist destination in North East India, Shillong is a better option to visit in the month of December-January. For visiting Shillong, December costs relatively less as compared to other months. The reason is that to attract more tourists, hotels and taxi operators keep their tariffs low.

This small and beautiful town is encircled by pine trees and is known for its picturesque sights and traditions. Shillong has major scenic spots such as K Wards Lake, Umiam Lake, Polo Ground, Mini Zoo, Elephant Waterfall and Shillong mountain peak. Due to the rolling hills around the town, the place is also famously known as the Scotland of the East.

Gokarna

Gokarna is a beautiful town in Karnataka which is located on the Arabian Sea. It is a Hindu pilgrimage site, which houses many sacred sites including the Mahabaleshwar Temple and the Koti Tirtha. Gokarna is also often referred to as a less crowded Goa. The reason is that there are many attractive beaches here, where you can spend some time relaxing.

The ‘beaches’ are the center of attraction here to relax. Mahabaleshwar Temple, Kudle Beach, Om Beach, Gokarna Beach, Yana, Half Moon Beach, Koti Tirtha, Paradise Beach etc. are the center of attraction here.

Mussoorie

One of the beautiful and magnificent place in Uttarakhand which is famously known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’ – Mussoorie is a prime tourist destination which is known for the beautiful mountains and scenic views around. The winters here are really chilling, but travelling here between December and February will be very cheaper for you as compared to other months in the year.

You will enjoy your tour without any hassles or long traffic queues as during this time, the tourist congestion here remains low. The beauty of the mountains from the Himalayan range is spectacular to behold. If you are lucky enough you may also get a chance to witness the snowfall here between December and February.

Tawang

Tawang also pronounced as Dawang, occupies an important place in Arunachal Pradesh’s tourism. It is known for many beautiful and important monasteries. Tawang Monastery is one of the most important sites here. This town is also famous as the birth place of Dalai Lama. Tourists visit here throughout the year and they get mesmerized with the beauty of this place which provides them a unique experience that is not easily forgettable.

Tawang experiences snowfall in winters, so it is always exciting to visit here during this period. From December to February, hotel rooms here are also easily available at cheaper rates as compared to summer season.
